Just rants and rages about everything that goes on in the world.

Our recent trip to Austin was everything we thought it would be and more. We slept late every morning, at Tex-Mex food all day and then hit the Honky Tonks at night. What more could a man ask for. Thursday we went to the Continental Club and caught a show by the Small Stars. These guys were entertaining to say the least. Friday night found us at the Broken Spoke. I can't remember the band but they played real country music so it was great. Saturday we spent in Gruene with Amy and Eric and had a blast. We saw the Derailers at Gruene Hall and danced and sweated all night. Sunday found us back at the Continental Club to see Heybale. We met Shooter Jennings and Susan had her picture made with him.

Top five things I enjoyed about Austin
  1. Gruene Hall and the entire town. A must do on any visit to Austin.
  2. Chuey's. Great Tex- Mex food.
  3. Threadgills. The place where the World Amardillo Headquarters got started. Sunday brunch was fabulous.
  4. Continental Club. Great country music and unique club.
  5. The Hyatt Regency was very nice and centrally located. I booked it on Priceline for $71 a night.

We had an awesome time too. It was a hoot and a half. It seems like you did all the important stuff in central Texas.

Here's a link to Vic Odin. He's a member of The Small Stars and is also from Fort Payne.

Good luck on the blog. I hope you have as much fun as I have over the past year.

Amy doesn't have a blogger account, so this is from her.

Congratulations on the new Blog! I like it already since you gave big props to Austin. Now you know why it's hard to pull myself away from here! We really enjoyed hanging out with you and Susan...come back any time, and we'll do it all again (except maybe less sangria on my part). See you in FP soon! -Amy
